Skills & Experience

As a  media ninja, I have experience with a wide array of software, hardware and production techniques. It’s pretty much impossible to detail everything I’ve learned over the years so I’ll just give a quick overview of what I do best.

First, some general skills:

  • conceptual thinking – I excel at high-level analytical work. My research skills and creative association make me well-suited for strategic marketing and branding work. My diverse technical chops prepare me ideally for evaluating tools and processes needed to help your projects thrive.
  • problem solving -  My curiosity, patience, persistence and technical vocabulary have helped me troubleshoot the inevitable problems that arise over the course of 15 years of computer and audio work. If you are having technical difficulties, odds are I’ve overcome a similar situation. Let my experience help save your day without giving you a headache.
  • communication – Effective communication is hard work. I can help you define  (and refine) your message with an aesthetic sensibility that does not sacrifice clarity. Contact me to find out how I can help you better express your vision.

This intellectual framework provides the basis for all of my work. Building upon that, here are a few specific domains in which I consider myself proficient:

  • computers and networking - Properly configuring hardware and software is an integral part of what I do.  I have extensive experience with both Macs and PCs, and am particularly adept at using open standards to build efficient workflows in a mixed network. I know my way around a command-line and have diverse experience with programming. Please contact me for more details of my specialized skillset.
  • visual design - I have an astute eye for composition and color. I can “see the big picture” without losing sight of the details.
  • multimedia production – Bringing audio, video, images, words and code together is where I really shine. From recording in ProTools, to editing with Final Cut, I can make your project come to life.

Here is a highlight of tools I use regularly on a professional basis:

  • Photoshop
  • Illustrator
  • Final Cut Pro
  • InDesign
